Drive-Up Food Distribution

Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

$25,000

Communities Served: Clairton, McKeesport, Glassport, Elizabeth, West Mifflin, and West Elizabeth

Minimize food insecurity through a drive-up food distribution in Clairton, which serves more than 325 households each month from Clairton, McKeesport, Glassport, Elizabeth, West Mifflin, and West Elizabeth, and provides individuals and families with produce, dairy, eggs, and other grocery staples.

Community Garden and Food Pantry Support


Greater Valley Community Services Inc.

Communities Served: Braddock and North Braddock

Minimize food insecurity by contributing to environmental sustainability through a community garden and food pantry. This project will serve residents in Braddock and North Braddock and educate youth and older adults on planting and producing food.

Braddock Farms


Grow Pittsburgh

$30,000

Communities Served: Braddock

Increase community access to fresh, healthy food, provide skill training for youth and adults to support their academic or career development, and improve the environment through promoting and teaching sustainable agriculture practices at Braddock Farms.

Increase health and well-being by supporting food planning and the distribution of over 42,860 meals to five locations serving residents from Braddock, North Braddock, North Versailles, and East Pittsburgh in an effort to support a healthy community as described by residents.

Ensure healthy indoor air quality for 100 McKeesport youth and families by assisting with the purchase of replacement air filters.

Maintaining a Community Asset

Mon/Yough Trail Council (MYTC)

Communities Served: Port Vue, Liberty, Lincoln, and Elizabeth Township

Promote public health and overall well-being via access to a maintained natural environment as requested by community residents. This community hiking and biking trail extends through the boroughs of Port Vue, Liberty, Lincoln, and Elizabeth Township.

Embrace Essentials

New Hope Assembly Of God

Increase the health and well-being of children in the Jefferson footprint by providing free formula, diapers,
wipes, and other supplies through a program in Elizabeth Township.

Elevating Community: Environmental Justice Table

Communities Served: Braddock, North Braddock, Clairton, Duquesne, East Pittsburgh, and McKeesport

Provide continued opportunity for a resident/community-driven initiative that aims to lift community voice in the discussion and education of environmental factors facing residents of Braddock, North Braddock, Clairton, Duquesne, East Pittsburgh, and McKeesport that impact their public health for the purpose of creating community-based solutions and increased health and well-being.

Communities Served: Braddock, East McKeesport, East Pittsburgh, North Braddock, North Versailles, and Wall

Engage and empower residents of Braddock, East McKeesport, East Pittsburgh, North Braddock, North Versailles, and Wall to eliminate illegal dumping by participating in land cleanups, water cleanups and environmental education.

Engage and empower residents of Braddock, East McKeesport, East Pittsburgh, North Braddock, North Versailles, and Wall to eliminate illegal dumping by participating in land cleanups, water cleanups and environmental education.

Tree Planting for Clean Air

Tube City Renaissance

Communities Served: McKeesport

Increase the City of McKeesport’s tree canopy which will reduce heat, improve air quality, and enhance the overall environmental quality of the city with the support of an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer.

Ensuring Indoor Air Quality with Air Filters and Education

Valley Clean Air Now

$75,000

Communities Served: Braddock, North Braddock, Wall, North Versailles, East Pittsburgh, East McKeesport, McKeesport, and Duquesne

Increase indoor air quality and the health of well-being of 600 households in Braddock, North Braddock, Wall, North Versailles, East Pittsburgh, East McKeesport, McKeesport, and Duquesne through the distribution of and education on portable air filters designed to clean the air from the specific pollutants found in the communities. This will complement the current planned distribution of filters to Jefferson Hills, West Mifflin, West Elizabeth, Dravosburg, Pleasant Hills, and Elizabeth Township funded by other partners.

Communities Served: Clairton

Support improving green space and the Clairton Community Garden to provide education and fresh produce to Clairton residents.

Summer Enrichment Program

Young Black Motivated Kings & Queens

$30,000

Communities Served: Braddock, Duquesne, East McKeesport, East Pittsburgh, McKeesport, North
Braddock, and West Mifflin

Offer a ten-week, tuition-free summer program rooted in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive
approach for 22 Mon Valley youth in grades K-12 to build confidence, leadership skills, academic enrichment, and meaningful connections with peers
