Jefferson Regional Foundation welcomes your interest in our grantmaking program. The strategies we use to implement our mission include grantmaking, education and outreach—and all of these require strong and committed partners. While funding is often essential in fulfilling a vision, we also encourage you to engage with the Foundation in discussing ideas and issues, sharing resources, building the capacity of other community partners and other means which help us improve the health and well-being of the Jefferson Hospital communities south of Pittsburgh, PA.

In exploring our grantmaking program, we encourage you to fully review the information on our site. Our mission and principles are an important place to begin understanding the intentions of the Foundation and its Board of Directors. It will be important to understand the Foundation’s dedication to the specific communities of the Jefferson service area. The strategic priorities reflect the focus of our efforts and how the Foundation makes strategic use of its grant dollars and the eligibility guidelines are critical considerations. The grant awards will provide insights into the kind of community investments, organizations and size of grants the Board has approved to date, and the news section can also provide additional detail about some of our grants and initiatives. If you are new to seeking and writing grants or soliciting foundation support, we have listed some wonderful local and national grantseeking resources, including free and low-cost training that we encourage you to visit now. The community resources and reports, including the Jefferson Hospital Community Health Needs Assessment, can provide helpful data, context and potential partners for your efforts.

The Foundation has chosen to use an online grant application process—which begins with a Letter of Intent. Full proposals are generally sought or accepted only after a review of the Letter of Intent and often additional conversation. We have also included information about the grant cycles, proposal process and even a series of questions or tips which are used by our Grant Review Committee. Finally, visit our FAQs for answers to other questions you may have. Please feel free to contact our CEO or Director of Grantmaking and Strategy after you have reviewed our site and are considering seeking Foundation support or have related questions.
